Points Awarding System

Your club has in place a points awarding system that awards points to club members for input into and participation in various club activities.

The purpose of the awards system is to foster involvement and social contact whilst at the same time provide an incentive to club members to become and continue to be, active contributors to the positive well-being and development of the Jaguar Car Club of WA and the Jaguar marque.

An annual award is presented to those club members who have accumulated the most points within each of 5 award categories. The award takes the form of an annual trophy which is engraved with the winner’s name and is kept by the winning club member for a period of 1 year. An engraved perpetual award is presented to trophy winners at the end of the year.

Important notes in relation to the points awarding system

General:

Points are awarded from July to June each year;

The club attendance register is the source document for all points scoring;

Each family member must individually sign on (print) their name if seeking points allocation and points are only allocated to the individual as entered in the register;

Only if attending in your own Jaguar should you print the model of the Jaguar that you came in;

Motion events where you are not in your Jaguar do not attract points for participation, only attendance as applicable.

Shannons:

1 Point is awarded for all Jaguar Club organised events but points are not awarded for special training events e.g. Concours judging.

Roadbend:

Roadbend points scoring events are always designated thus *;

As each event is planned, your committee assesses its value and decides if it is to receive Roadbend status at the time of publishing it in the club magazine;

Navigating in a points scoring event carries the same award as driving in that event;

Magazine - 3 points awarded for a published original article. Non original articles, re-prints of others’ articles or reports required as part of a committee membership role are not point scoring;

Organising - 5 points awarded only if it is a Roadbend designated point scoring event thus *.

Franzone:

Navigating in a points scoring event carries the same award as driving in that event.

O’Halloran:

1 point is awarded for every event if attending in own Jaguar but only for all Jaguar models produced up to and including the MKV and any sports car up to and including the XK120;

Replicas and Specials are excluded.

Fitzpatrick:

1 point is awarded for attendance at every Jaguar Club organised event if in your own E-Type.

Mulheron:

A novice is defined as a participant who has not competed in JCC motion events in previous years.

POLICY STATEMENT

With the exception of trophies specifically aimed towards particular model ownership or competition events, the awarding of points is designed to be as extensive as possible.

All club members are made aware of the existence of the points scoring system and its objectives so that if they wish, they can actively plan their way to winning their desired award or trophy.

The rules have been made as straight forward and easy for club members to understand as possible.

Anyone wishing to submit to the committee suggestions for additions or alterations to the rules is encouraged to do so but changes will not be introduced during the current point scoring year.

The current “Top 10” accumulation of points scored by club members for each of the awards shall be posted on the club notice board and- space permitting, will be printed in the “JaguarsWest” magazine each month.

This is to serve 3 purposes:

· to inform club members of the workings of the system;

· to inform club members where they stand points-wise at any given time (This also gives club members the opportunity to seek clarification or question their points total if they think the total is wrong. In this way we can avoid errors as we go along rather than have concerns raised at the end of the year.); and

· to encourage all members to become more involved in the club events and activities.
